Cycling in Asbury Park

Asbury Park is the north Jersey Shore’s music-and-boardwalk town, and its best riding is dead flat and ocean-scented. The marquee outing is the oceanfront run along Ocean Avenue — south through Victorian Ocean Grove, Bradley Beach, Avon, and Belmar to Spring Lake, roughly 6–8 miles one way of sea-level cruising past beaches and boardwalks, with an equally easy northern spur toward Deal and Long Branch.
Two of the town’s flagship hotels build bikes into the stay: The Asbury keeps guest bicycles you reserve at the front desk (included in its destination fee), and the oceanfront Asbury Ocean Club includes bike use in its resort fee. A block into Ocean Grove, the Victorian Majestic hotel provides bicycles among its guest amenities. If you’d rather rent, Asbury Park Cyclery is a full-service shop on Main Street, and Tour the Shore delivers rental bikes to your door anywhere from Asbury Park to Manasquan.
Time the boardwalk carefully: bikes are allowed on it only from midnight to 10 a.m., never north of Sixth Avenue, and e-bikes are banned from the boards entirely. Ride the boardwalk at sunrise with a coffee stop at Convention Hall, then take Ocean Avenue for the rest of the day.
