Blaine sits in the very northwest corner of Washington, on the Canadian border. The cycling draw is gentle and scenic: Semiahmoo Spit reaching out between Drayton Harbor and Semiahmoo Bay, quiet shoreline roads, and the nearby Birch Bay loop — flat, easy, Pacific-Northwest coastal riding with water on both sides.

It’s a place where you don’t need to bring a bike: the resort out on the spit lends guests beach cruisers, so you can roll straight out the door and onto the waterfront.

Summer is the sweet spot; shoulder seasons are quiet and can be wet.
