When the snow melts, Park City swaps skis for singletrack and becomes one of the best trail towns in America — the first place IMBA ever crowned a Gold-Level Ride Center. The signature line is the Mid-Mountain Trail, a high traverse that stitches together Park City Mountain and Deer Valley at around 8,000 feet, but the network fans out in every direction: buffed climbing trails like Armstrong and Spiro right off town, mellow Round Valley loops, and lift-served downhill laps at Deer Valley.
This is also the rare destination where the fanciest hotels double as bike shops. Stein Eriksen Lodge keeps its own rental operation, Stein Eriksen Sport, on the main level with a full lineup of trail bikes, e-bikes, and kids’ rigs, so guests roll from the lobby onto Deer Valley singletrack. Down the ridge at Empire Pass, Montage Deer Valley’s Compass Sports outfitter handles bike rentals on site. In town, White Pine Touring and Jans rent everything else and will point you to trails that match your legs.
If you’d rather follow a local, White Pine’s guided rides — from a three-hour intro tour to a five-hour-plus epic — include the rental bike and helmet, which makes them the easiest way to sample the network on a first visit.
The season runs roughly June through September at this elevation; upper trails shed snow late and afternoon thunderstorms build fast in midsummer, so ride high in the morning. Remember you’re starting near 7,000 feet — budget an easy first day if you’re coming from sea level.
