That reshapes how you ride here. If you want the guided mountain experience, book a stay at The Outpost at Windham Mountain Club, which is the gateway to the guided e-bike tours for all skill levels. For self-guided riding, the town leans toward trail and e-bikes rather than downhill: Windham Mountain Outfitters on Route 296 rents adult, kids’, and e-bikes with helmets included (call for current rates), while Catskill Bicycle Supply, about half an hour east, keeps full-suspension mountain bikes.
Base yourself in the village and the logistics get easy. Albergo Allegria runs a concierge bike-rental desk that points guests to local shops, Wylder Windham offers complimentary guest bikes for easy spins, and the paved Windham Path is a relaxed warm-up. Plan for roughly June through October, with brilliant Catskills color arriving in early fall.
